What's the meaning of The Parade of Colour Ceremony?

Trooping the Colour is a military ceremony that has been held to mark the official birthday of the British Sovereign for more than 260 years. It is always on the second Saturday in June, meaning this year it is on 17 June.

In the United Kingdom, Trooping the Colour is also known as the King's Birthday Parade. First performed during the reign of King Charles II (1660–1685), in 1748 it was decided that the parade of Trooping the Colour should mark the official birthday of the Sovereign.
